TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The Finalist Winners and their respective
Parents/Guardians must be able and available to travel to Denver, Colorado for the
National Competition on the dates in December specified by Sponsor. Sponsor will
determine the venue, dates of travel and time of event by October 13, 2008. If the
National Winner and his/her Parent/Guardian are unable or unavailable to travel
to Southern California for Red Robin's Leadership Summit in January 2009, the National
Winner and his/her Parent/Guardian will forfeit that portion of the prize.
WINNER SELECTION/JUDGING CRITERIA: Entries meeting eligibility
and entry requirements will be judged by an independent judging firm and/or members
of the Red Robin Marketing Team, Red Robin Food and Beverage Team and guest judges,
who may be celebrities or individuals with culinary training (“Contest Judges”).
The judging to determine Restaurant Winners will occur in two stages: first, the
recipe will be judged and, second, if the recipe scores well, the essay will be
judged. The entry with the highest combined ranking from each restaurant will be
named the Restaurant Winner. Recipes will be judged on the following equally weighted
criteria: originality/creativity of recipe, taste appeal of ingredients and preparation,
appropriateness of burger name and ability of recipe to be executed in Red Robin®
restaurants. Essays will be judged based on the following equally weighted criteria:
originality of essay message, essay's expression of enthusiasm and quality of writing.
Judging at the National Competition to determine the National Winner, and the First,
Second and Third Place finishers, in addition to each Entrant's recipe and essay
being re-judged, will also include judging the presentation of the Entrant's prepared
burger. As entries advance, the judging criteria will not change except as mentioned
above during the National Competition. Judging to determine Restaurant Winners will
occur between July 2, and August 19, 2008. Judging to determine Finalist Winners
will occur between August 20 and September 26, 2008. The decisions of the Contest
Judges will be final and binding.
WINNER NOTIFICATION/RELEASES: Sponsor will attempt to notify Restaurant
Winners via email or mail sent to the Parent/Guardian on or about August 20, 2008;
Finalist Winners via email or mail sent to the Parent/Guardian on or about October
1, 2008. Restaurant and Finalist Winners, and their Parents/Guardians, and guests
(or Parent/Guardian if guest is a minor) may be required to complete additional
forms and releases. The National Winner will be selected and announced at the National
Competition in Denver, Colorado, on or about December 5, 2008. Prizes will be awarded
to the Entrant's Parent/Guardian, who may be required to complete, sign, have notarized
and return (within 5 days of receipt), an affidavit of eligibility, a licensing
agreement, a waiver of liability and, where permitted, a publicity release for themselves
and their minor child. Failure to timely return such documents may result in Entrant
and Parent/Guardian forfeiting any prize they may have been eligible to receive.
Any prize or prize notification returned as undeliverable or refused will result
in disqualification of Entrant, and Sponsor may name an alternate winner. By accepting
a prize, the Entrant's Parent/Guardian consents (where legal) to the use of the
Entrant's and the Parent's/Guardian's name, likeness, photograph, biographical information
and statements by Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries, franchisees or affiliates
for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without notice or compensation.
LIMITATION ON LIABILITY: Entrants and their Parents/Guardians agree
to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries,
franchisees or affiliates and their respective officers, directors and employees,
representatives and agents from and against any claims, damages or liability due
to any injuries, damage or losses to any person (including death) or property of
any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance,
possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Contest-related activity
(including but not limited to travel related thereto) or participation in the Contest.
Sponsor not responsible for any telephone, computer or network malfunction or error,
or for computer virus or damage caused to Entrant's computer from access to Contest
web site. If for any reason Sponsor cannot run this Contest as planned, due to any
cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or affects the administration,
security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, then Sponsor reserves
the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend that portion
of the Contest. If Sponsor terminates the Contest prior to its scheduled end date,
Sponsor will determine winners from all eligible entries received as of termination
date and will post notice at www.redrobin.com.
Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other printing errors in the
offer or administration of the Contest, including, but not limited to, errors in
the printing or posting of the offer or in these Official Rules, the selection or
announcement of the winners or the distribution of any prizes. For details on how
Sponsor may use information collected from Entrants or their Parents/Guardians,
